Le Cellier

A delightful restaurant in the charming town of Saumur, run by a fresh, friendly and exceptionally talented team. Food was exquisite, with a depth of flavour and creativity the belies it's humble price-point. Perfectly paired local wines sealed the deal. Great food, great service, great cute little restaurant. Deserving of its 5 star status. The knowledgeable staff were also able to advise in French and English on gluten free options (almost everything was or could be adjusted to be GF and we saw great communication between front of house and kitchen in the topic of "sans gluten"). They took care and were happy to accommodate. The dark cracker-like thing atop my wife's lamb was a buckwheat cracker (gluten free). It disguised the amazing candied lamb shoulder beneath!! My steak was perfectly cooked and our entrees were wonderful. Dessert was a real treat too!! This place is actually worth a detour if you're staying elsewhere in the Loire... Treat yourself to a (reasonably priced) meal here and a stroll through the town and up to the castle for a fantastic view. You won't regret it!!

Flora & Steven are warm and welcoming -- genuine and sweet people. You can clearly see they love their craft. The food is amazingly delicious and terrific value. The setting is simple -- very cozy and comfortable. Please don't change a thing! Very best to your success!

Had a lovely dinner here. I recommend you reserve a table. The menu is small,the food delicious,presentation amazing…. I could go on but you get the picture. What the team achieve in a small kitchen is amazing. Portion sizes are perfect for me but a hungry male diner may want extra bread. Please go - they are doing great things here.

We passed by La Cellier while checking Saumur's main street and decided to book a table for dinner. The food was great as well as the service and atmosphere. Very nice place.

A must visit restaurant! Such a fantastic experience- the meal was a delight from start to finish. Run by the most adorable and talented couple, you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in the door. Each course was a joy to eat- local foods paired with flawless technique (the best duck we ever had!), they really have a special restaurant here. If you want a delicious, relaxing, memorable evening- this is a sure bet! Thank you for having us!

Wonderful place with an excellent price quality ratio! We really enjoyed all the refined dishes with local products from the area. The food was sublime and the service genuinely friendly. The restaurant only has a few tables so we were really happy to have been given a table for four. We wish the young chef and staff all the best of luck, they sure started off at an excellent level!
